Obituary

Frank A. Marlowe, 73, of 1431 Carlsbad Place, New Castle, went to be with his Lord the evening of July 2, 2010, at his residence.Frank was born in Wilkinsburg, PA on January 6, 1937. He was the son of the late Frank A. Marlowe Sr. and Margaret Lillian Hayden Marlowe. He married the former Jean Louise Gibson on March 21, 1960. She survives. They enjoyed celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in March of this year with a surprise party hosted by their children, followed by a trip to Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany, where Frank was stationed in 1965 with the United States Air Force. Frank retired in 1996 from Lawrence County Vo-Tech after 27 years of teaching electronics. He was a member of the New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church in New Castle and served as an Elder. He was also an avid amateur radio man for many years. He loved teaching and reading. Most of all Frank loved his Lord, his family and his church.In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Michael A. and Sherry Marlowe of Rochester, NY, David A. and Beth Ann Marlowe of Auburn, IN, Daniel A. and Michelle Marlowe of Grove City, PA, and Dale E. and Dyann Marlowe of Ramstein AFB, Germany; one sister, Annette Shaw of San Diego, CA; and 13 grandchildren.Frank was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Alice Coddington.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., and also Wednesday, July 7, 2010, from 10:00 tp 11:00 a.m. at the New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 1911 Harlansburg Road, New Castle.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 1911 Harlansburg Road, New Castle. The Rev. George Yates will officiate. The New Castle Area Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites Wednesday at the church. Burial will take place at Slippery Rock Cemetery, Slippery Rock PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are asked to be made in Frank's name to the New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 1911 Harlansburg Road, New Castle PA 16101 or to The Navigators, P.O. Box 6400 Colorado Springs, CO. 80934.Arrangements are by the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
