Frasin "Frank" M. Mitrea of Edison Manor Nursing Home and Rehab Center in New Castle, went to be with his Lord and Savior in Heaven the afternoon of March 17, 2025 following a lengthy illness.

Frank was born in Pomona, California on April 9, 1948 and moved to New Castle in 1950. He was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1968. He was employed at the Kennedy Tubular Plant for years as a machine operator until his disability from renal kidney disease in 1990.

Frank was dedicated to the Lord and first and foremost he enjoyed reading and studying the Holy Bible.

He was an avid stamp collector and enjoyed watching TV, especially football and baseball sports as well as old classic movies.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents Frasin A. Mitrea in 1960 and his mother, Anna E. (Nicholas) Mitrea in 1992; a sister, Evelyn A. (Jim) Reed in October, 2024.

He is survived by two brothers, Paul D. (Carol) Mitrea of Harlansburg, PA and Jerry R. Mitrea of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Lorraine "Lori" Cameron of New Castle; and several nieces and nephews who he dearly loved. Frank was a confirmed bachelor, so he saw them as "his children."

Visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00 on Friday, March 21, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Marquis officiating.

Interment will be in Center U.P. Church cemetery where he will rest in peace beside his sister and parents until the coming of days.

In celebration of his life, donations may be made to the Fresenius Dialysis Center of New Castle. We who are left behind live to honor his memory.
