Obituary

Frederick J. Durbin, 82, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of Jan. 10, 2025, at Edison Manor.

Born May 18, 1942, in Ellwood City, PA, he was the son of the late Lillian L. (Durbin) Wisbith.

On July 2, 1966, he married his wife of fifty-eight years, Virginia (Fabian) Durbin, who survives at home.

Frederick served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He worked as a welder, employed Mesta Machine, where he worked for several years. He then went on to work as a bus driver, employed by ACTS, until his retirement.

Playing bingo, tending bar at many establishments around the New Castle area, and keeping up with football statistics, were some of his favorite hobbies. He was a member of the American Legion Post #343. Most of all, Frederick enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, survivors include one daughter Barbara Truby of Edinburg, PA; one son Robert (Rachael) Durbin of New Castle; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Along with his mother, Frederick was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Durbin, one grandson, Matthew and one great-grandson, Jaiden.

In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation or services.
