Gary W. Axe, 77, of 2196 State Rt. 956, Volant, passed away the night of April 23, 2013 at his residence. Born November 14, 1935, in Mahoning Township, he was a son of Norman Eugene Axe and Bertha Langdon Axe. He is survived by his wife, Judith Graham Axe, whom he married January 20, 1962. Gary served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Roofers Local 71. Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Shenango China Hunting and Fishing Club. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Norma Jean Ragnelli and Marilyn K. (Ralph) DePinto, all of New Castle; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, Carol Mielke, Georgann Gibson and Sherry Kuhn. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2013, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home and will be officiated by Rev.
