Gary R. Leach, age 77, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of Nov. 28, 2022, at his residence.

Born May 30, 1945, in Bellaire, Ohio, he was the son of the late Donald G. and Nora Mae (Kerner) Leach.

On Dec. 2, 1978, he married his beloved wife of 43 years, Karen (Bell) Leach. She survives at home.

Gary was a graduate of New Castle High School. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree, in Art, from Youngstown State University and his master's degree, in Special Education, from Slippery Rock University. He was employed by Big Beaver Fall School District as an Art and Special Education teacher, until his retirement. Gary loved people, guitars, drawing portraits, his service dog "Sherman" and his service dog trainer, Lori. What gave Gary the most joy, was spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Gary is survived by one daughter, Courtney; four grandchildren, Camilla, Brogan, Miriam, and Guy; one brother, Don Leach; niece Jennifer; nephew, Jeff; and one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Pete.

In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation or services.
