Gary L. Babe Pitzer, 66, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of August 16, 2017 at Edison Manor. Born June 6, 1951 in New Castle, he was the son of John T. Pitzer, Sr. and Donna Lang Pitzer. A graduate of New Castle High School, Gary also received an electricians degree from the New Castle School of Trades. He was employed as a kiln fireman with Shenango China and later was an independent electrician. Gary held memberships with the VFW, the Eagles Club and the Moose Lodge where he often enjoyed spending time. He also liked fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Diane Glitsch Pitzer of Slippery Rock, and two sons, Scott Pitzer of New Castle and Timothy Pitzer of Slippery Rock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John T. Pitzer, Jr. and Terry Pitzer. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 21, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. There will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donors local VFW.
