Gem Ann (Pearsall) Grimes, age 84, formerly of Masters Court N.E., passed away October 8, 2016 at Windsor House at Champion in Warren, Ohio. Born February 18, 1932 in New Castle, Pa., she was the daughter of Earl and Martha Thomas Pearsall. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Alvin F. Grimes, whom she married February 4, 1950. Gem was a 1950 graduate of New Castle High School and enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her three children. She was a past member of Wimodausis and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Ann P. (Dr. James) Brodell of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; two sons, Allen F. (Diane) Grimes of North Andover, Mass. and Terry L. (Wendy) Grimes of Wampum; one brother, William Pearsall of New Castle; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kristofer, James and Andrew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Kehm and Jane Royal; one brother, Robert Pearsall; one daughter, Martha Grimes; and one son, Richard Grimes. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
