George Raymond Bintrim, 90, of New Castle, passed away the evening of September 19, 2014, in Sharon Regional Health System.George was born on February 6, 1924, at home in New Castle, to the late Frederick and Ethel Hoover Bintrim. He married the former Doris Duncan on September 12, 1946. She survives. Mr. Bintrim was a pattern maker by trade. Ellwood City Pattern, Liberty Pattern, Mesta Machine and United Engineer were some of the places he displayed his craft. He even was a partner at Ellwood City Pattern Works. George attended Shenango School District and served his country, in the South Pacific, during WW II in the US Navy. Mr. Bintrim loved woodworking, remodeling and making furniture. His efforts for these passions can be seen in his home and the homes of his children and grandchildren. He was an avid Steelers fan and loved his time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. George was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church and a member of the 3M Class.In addition to his wife, Mr. Bintrim is survived by his daughter, Linda S. King, of New Castle; son and daughter-in-law, Tim R. and Candace Bintrim, of North Beach, MD; brother, James Bintrim and sister, Helen Perdue, both of New Castle; four grandchildren, Mackenzie VonHandorf, Reagan McAdams, Claudia Taber, Duncan Bintrim and seven great grandchildren, Mason, Nash, Lochlan, Clara, Georgia, Theo and Harriett.He was preceded in passing by his parents, two sisters, Edice Bartberger and Anna Fautato and two brothers, Ernest and Herbert Bintrim.Visitation will be held Monday, September 22, 2014, from 12-2 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., New Castle. Funeral services will follow immediately following visitation at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. John Yergan will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
