George Koprivnak, Jr., age 75, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of July 22, 2024, at his residence.

Born June 28, 1949, in New Castle, he was the son of the late George and Jennie R. A. (Klabon) Koprivnak, Sr.

On Aug. 11, 1972, he married his beloved wife of almost 52 years, Lois (Mayberry) Koprivnak. She survives at home.

George was in the first graduating class that graduated from the Lawrence County Vo-Tech. He went on to earn an associate degree at Youngstown State University. For 43 years, he was employed by Bruce & Merrilees where he was a tool facility manager, until his retirement. George was an avid collector of matchbox cars, loved to go camping and shop at various flea markets. What gave George the most joy in life, was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Shenango Christian Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Lacey (Steven) Pensy of New Castle, PA; one son, Brad (Rachel) Koprivnak, of Painsville, OH; one brother, Larry R. Koprivnak of Edinburg, PA; two sisters, Janet L. McElhiney of Mountain Home, ID, and Lois Schneider of New Castle, PA; and three grandchildren, Grayson Koprivnak, Jovie Koprivnak and Bodie Pensy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Paul W. Koprivnak.

Visitation will be held on Sat. July 27th from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home, with Pastor Brandon Stephenson of One Church, officiating.

Burial will be at Castleview Cemetery.
