George O. Kordish, 68, of 306 E. Elizabeth Street, died the morning of November 4, 2011 at Silver Oaks Nursing Home.Born July 19, 1943 in Spangler, PA, he was a son of John Kordish and Alva Ruth Schaffer Kordish Cook. He was the step-son of the late Charles M. Cook.George formerly attended First Wesleyan Church, later named New Hope Wesleyan Church.He is survived by five brothers, John Kordish, James Kordish, David Kordish, Robert Kordish and Charles Kordish all of New Castle; four half-sisters, Donna Nero, Janice Cook, Carolyn Cook and Tammy Pauline all of New Castle; and two half-brothers, Gary Cook and Michael Cook of New Castle.Kordish.In addition to his parents and step-father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Wilmington Road.A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at the funeral home. The Rev. Gary DeWitt will officiate. Burial will be in Castle View Gardens.
