George E. 'Bud' McCart, age 82, of Clover SC, formerly of New Castle, passed away the evening of Nov. 13, 2020. Born June 27, 1938, in New Castle, he was the son of the late John 'Babe' McCart and Marie G. (Johnson) McCart. On August 30, 1957, he married his beloved wife of 63 years, Vera Jane (Fobes) McCart. She survives at home. Bud attended Union High School and after his graduation, he faithfully served his county in the United States Army. He retired from Flowline Corporation as a Press Operator. Bud enjoyed cars and most of all, the time he spent with his family. He was a member of Wayside Emmanuel Church where he served on the board. In addition to his wife, Vera, Bud is survived by one daughter, Kay J. (Ben) Portner of New Castle, PA; one son, Steven E. (Jayne) McCart of Clover, SC; a sister, Millie Kelly and two grandchildren, Joshua McCart and Amber McCart. Along with his parents, Bud was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Jack McCart and a sister, Patty McCart. Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 20th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wayside Emmanuel Church, 4437 Mitchell Road, New Castle, PA 16105. A service will be held at the church on Sat. Nov. 21st at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bryan Warner officiating. Burial will be at Castleview Cemetery, in New Castle.
