George Hamilton Miller, 94, of Neshannock Township, passed away peacefully the early morning of November 23, 2023, on Thanksgiving, at Clen-Moore Place.

Born in New Castle, Pennsylvania on February 26, 1929, he was the son of the late George S. Miller and Eva Hamilton Miller. In George's words "I am the last member of my family."

George was a 1947 graduate of New Castle High School, Class of 1947. He attended Youngstown University and was an Insurance Agent for HG Miller& Son Agency and a past member of the Equitable Life Assurance Society, the New Castle Jaycees, and the Eintracht Singing Society. He was a veteran and served his country in the US Army during the Korean War and was a life member of the Second Presbyterian Church and later attended the Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church. Early in his career he served as President of the New Castle Mayor's Safety Council. He also worked for a short while at Reiber Cadillac as a salesman. His 1947 NE-CA-HI Yearbook beside his photo after his name states: "Merrily He Rolls Along" Ambition—Real Estate Agent Probable End—Auto Salesman."

His attributes and there were many but his knowledge of New Castle from the cars anyone owned to the inhabitants in the homes anywhere in New Castle and who worked where was off the charts. He relished the times spent on a regular weekly basis at restaurants with ongoing mind storming inquisitive conversations with his friends be it at Eat & Park, McDonalds, Soni and so forth. To name a few Randy Mooney, Chris Sainato Robert Razzano, former mayor Tony Mastrangelo, Ron Hitch, Marv Lebby, Dale Perelman, Chuck Marone, Dr. Tai, Chris Mitsos, Bruce Waldman, Sid Shenkan, recently departed Lee Silverman, and others.

One of his favorite vacation spots was Bemus Point and the historic Hotel Lenhart where some of his fondest memories came into being. Of recent, Ron Hitch would drive him there to imbibe in his favorite cheeses.

The friends at Neshannock Woods apartments (especially Bobbi and Candy) and his recent time at Jameson Hospital. Jameson Care Center and Clen-Moore Place where at the latter, he left a lasting impression (he loved Carol, Annette, Beverly and especially Jackie as well as shooting the breeze with Danny and respected Denise) where he had moments he cherished and let the staff know when he didn't feel he was getting what he paid for…(SMILE) Yet though he was the last member of his family, his extended family included all his friends and especially the care and friendship from his former neighbors on Englewood Avenue, Bob and Janet Marquis, his car enthusiast friend Joe McElvaney, Linda Flannery, Bob Mitchell (1947 New Castle High School class historian) and the Harry and Maureen Flannery Family.

Randy Mooney via a text having learned of George's passing had these words:

"He was a very kind, gentle, and caring person. He was a good friend…We will all miss him. God Bless You George!!"

A one hour visitation from 11:00-12:00 followed by a 12:00 service will be held on Wednesday November 29, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home, 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. Pastor Rich Kinney, whom he requested, will officiate.

Burial will be at Oak Park Cemetery next to his parents.
