George Dean Wallace, age 95, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of March 8, 2025, at Jameson Care Center.

Born July 6, 1929, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of Thomas Greer Wallace and Callie Maude (Davy) Wallace.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 59 years, Elberta J. Wallace, on October 26, 2009, and subsequently married Grace (Martin) Wallace who survives.

He served his country during the Korean War. George worked in retail foods for 48 years and was employed by Ralph's Market for 15 years until his retirement in 1993.

Among his varied interests, George enjoyed wood working and was a member of the former King's Chapel Church.

In addition to his wife Grace, he is survived by one daughter, Debra E. (John) Phillipson of Austintown, OH; two sons, Donald E. (Lynda) Wallace of Yorba Linda, CA and James D. (Monica) Wallace of New Galilee, PA; seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents; first wife Elberta; two sisters, Grace Gibson and Isabelle Carper; one brother, Richard J. Wallace; and an infant grandson.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place Friday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor William LaVelle officiating.

Burial will be in King's Chapel Cemetery.
