Georgia A. Murphey, 78, of 2941 Old Butler Road, died the evening of February 26, 2010 at Hospice House of the Valley in Poland, OH.Born February 3, 1932 in New Castle, she was a daughter of George and Marian Shenker. She married Thomas M. Murphey on April 7, 1956. He survives in New Castle.Mrs. Murphey was a 1950 graduate of New Castle High School. She enjoyed cooking and co-owned G & R Catering from which she retired.She was a member of First Christian Church where she was active with the Christian Women's Fellowship and was a deacon.In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Andrew Kotarba of Michigan; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery S. and Joyce Murphey of New Castle; one brother, Richard Shenker of Mercer; one sister, Carol Duda of New Castle; five grandchildren, Andrea Kotarba and Kristin Kotarba of Michigan, Brandy Bedilion and Carrie Bedilion of New Castle and Shanon Bedilion of West Virginia; and three great grandchildren; Genesis Bedilion, Caden Hall, and Randal Kelly.She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, George Shenker; two sisters; Marian McNees and Eleanor Shenker.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA.A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev.
