Gerald "Jerry" Findley Sankey, 63, of New Castle, passed away the night of November 27, 2013 at his residence. Born January 17, 1950 in New Castle, he was a son of Findley R. and Mabel L. Burns Sankey.He was a graduate of New Castle High School and attended Youngstown State University. Jerry was employed as a truck driver for Erie Enterprises in West Middlesex where he recently retired in March, 2013. Prior, he was employed with Youngstown Sheet and Tube.Jerry was an avid car enthusiast who enjoyed traveling, the outdoors, and spending time with his grandson. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Shannon and David Colamarino of Pittsburgh; his companion of 22 years, Dianne Thompson; one sister, Patricia Mae Sankey of New Castle; one grandson, Luca; and his former wife, Katherine L. Dando. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2013, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation Sunday, December 1, 2013, at 4:00 pm at the funeral home and will be officiated by Rev. Sean Walters of Christ Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
