Gerald (Jerry) Joseph Stone, 85, of Virginia Beach, Virginia died on September 21, 2024 after an extended illness.

He was born in New Castle on March 27, 1939 to John N. and Catherine Liley Stone.

For 61 years, he was married to Lynn Spencer Stone, who survives.

Jerry is also survived by a daughter, Karyn Stone Simonelli (Bryan) of Virginia Beach, a son, John A. Stone (Kristy) of Warrenton, Virginia, and a brother, Richard W. Stone (Barbara) of Roanoke, Virginia. He was "Pop" to four grandchildren: Kate Stone, Jordan Simonelli, Parker Stone, and Megan Simonelli. He is also survived by step-granddaughter, Alexis Simonelli; two nieces, Amy Brinton Ambrosini (Joe) and Melissa Stone Wood; and a nephew, Richard D. Stone.

A 1957 graduate of New Castle High School, he attended the Pennsylvania State University and Youngstown State University. He served with the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. Jerry retired from a long career of paint sales and management in 2005. He enjoyed tennis, auto-racing, fishing, and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

A graveside service will be held on Mon. Oct. 14th at 11:00 AM at Castleview Memorial Gardens with Rev. Richard Kinney, officiating.
