Gerald "Sid" W. Wawrzynski, 72, formerly of Blews Way, New Castle, passed away the night of June 9, 2012 at Grove Manor in Grove City, PA.Born April 29, 1940 in New Castle, he was a son of Edward E. and Jennie Kalajainen Wawrzynski.He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Connie J. Wingard Wawrzynski, on August 23, 2007.He was a graduate of Shenango High School. Sid was employed as the head of maintenance at F.B. Leopold in Zelienople for 20 years, retiring in 2003.He enjoyed golfing and was active in the Neshannock Boosters.He is survived by three sons, David Q. and wife Traci Wawrzynski of Hamlin, NY, Dan W. and wife Lisa Wawrzynski of Hurst, TX, and Doug W. and wife Becky Wawrzynski of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Paul Wawrzynski of Hermitage, and Allen Wawrzynski of San Jose, CA; three grandchildren, Ashley, Megan and Rachel Wawrznski; and one great-grandchild, Madison.In addition to his parents and his wife, he is preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Wawrzynski.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.A funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev.
