Geraldine Eliza Blews, 88, of Neshannock Township in New Castle, passed away the evening of September 27, 2012 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.Born January 21, 1924, in New Castle, she was a daughter of Phillip A. and Ada Dangerfield Watkins.Preceding her in death on January 20, 1992, was her husband, Paul R. Blews, whom she married April 17, 1941.Geraldine attended New Castle High School and was a homemaker.She held a leadership role with the St. Francis Auxiliary and was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.She was affiliated with First Alliance Church.Survivors include three daughters, Paulette Ingram of Bessemer, PA, Lucynda Baker and her husband Ben of New Castle, and Rhonda Butera of Poland, OH; three grandchildren, Clarissa (Tye) Tyson, Marissa (Brian) Shaffer, and Julie (Craig) Purnell; and five great-grandchildren, Troy, Lara and Brody Tyson, and Lucas and Marah Shaffer.In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother.Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 30, 2012, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 1, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Dennis Bupp will officiate.Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
