Geraldine M. McGuire, 88, formerly of Meadowview Blvd., passed away the afternoon of April 1, 2016 at Haven Convalescent Home. Geraldine was born on February 4, 1928 in New Castle. She was preceded in death on June 14, 2008 by her husband of 61 years, Everett R. McGuire, whom she married February 28, 1947. A graduate of New Castle High School, Geraldine was employed for 16 years with the Camera and Card Shop located in the Town Mall. A lifelong member of Third Presbyterian Church, she served as a past Deacon and was a member of the True Blue Sunday school class. She was a member of Wimodausis and enjoyed knitting, sewing and baking. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara (Randy) Pitzer of New Castle; one son, John (Linda) McGuire of New Castle; a sister-in-law, Shirley (Tom) Glitch of New Castle; three grandchildren, Stephanie Mojock, Michael Pitzer and Christian Pitzer; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler Mojock, Gabriel Mojock, and Jonathan Mojock. In addition to her parents and her husband Everett, she was preceded in death by her two sons, James McGuire and Scott McGuire. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev.
