Gina M. Swartz, 47, of New Castle, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on the evening of Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born on December 1, 1978, in New Castle, she was the beloved daughter of John and Deborah (Kowal) Carbone Jr.

On July 18, 2003, Gina married the love of her life, Josh Swartz. Together they shared 23 wonderful years of marriage, building a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to their family.

A graduate of Union High School, Gina found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved. She had a gift for making a house feel like home, whether through preparing family meals, celebrating holidays, or simply being present for the people who meant the most to her. Her husband and children were the center of her world, and she made it her life's mission to ensure they always knew how deeply they were loved.

Gina enjoyed music, reading, movies, tanning, shopping, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates. She cherished the memories she made during her time at Bryan China and found happiness in spending time with her beloved animals and creating lasting family traditions. A woman of faith, Gina maintained a strong relationship with God and was a former member of St. Vitus Parish.

Her kindness, compassion, and selfless love will be remembered always by those who were blessed to know her.

In addition to her parents, Gina is survived by her devoted husband, Josh Swartz; her beloved children, Antonio and Dianna Swartz, both of New Castle; her brother, John (Ashley) Carbone III of Pulaski; her sister, Christie M. (Shawn) Perry of New Castle; her in-laws, Greg and Pamela Blake of New Castle; one niece, Jovonna Carbone; and two nephews, Austin Perry and John Carbone IV.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John and Diana Carbone, and her maternal grandparents, John and Mary Kowal.

In keeping with Gina's wishes, services will be held privately.
