Gladys G. Taylor, 94, went to be with the Lord, January 13, 2013 at the Overlook Medical Clinic in New Wilmington. Gladys was born January 13, 1919 to the late Fred and Laura McKinney Booher. She married James E. Taylor December 15, 1939. He preceded her in death August 17, 1966.She was a member of First Alliance Church, formerly Gospel Tabernacle, for approximately 75 years. She loved going to church. She loved to read, especially her Bible. Besides her family, a major highlight of her life was a trip to the Holy Land in 1981. She walked where Jesus walked, and now she sees Him face to face! Gladys is survived by six children, a daughter, Kathleen Taylor of New Castle, a son, James (Cheryl) Taylor of Lubbock, Texas, a son, Fred (Linda) Taylor of New Castle, a son William Taylor of Steamboat Springs. Colorado, a son, Daniel Taylor of New Wilmington, a daughter, Bonnie Woolum of Lewisburg, Ohio; a sister, Glee Thompson of New Castle; 17 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and four step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three brothers, John Clifford Booher, Robert Booher, and Darl Booher. Calling hours are 7 to 9 Wednesday evening at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Alliance Church with viewing from 10 to 11 before the funeral. The Rev. Phillip Harrison will officiate. Burial will be at Castle View Gardens.
