Glee M. Thompson, 96, of Oneida Street, New Castle, passed away June 26, 2014 at her residence.Born August 23, 1917 in Wampum, PA., she was a daughter of Fred T. and Laura E. McKinney Booher.Glee was married to Virgil L. Thompson, who preceded her in death.She was employed by J.C. Penney, working in the stock room, and by Fisher Dry Goods as a seamstress.Glee enjoyed making crafts and being outdoors, proud that she walked over 270 miles while in her 80's.She was a member of the Nobleton Community Church while living in Nobleton, Florida several years. When moving back to New Castle ten years ago to live with her daughter and son-in-law, she began attending New Castle Bible Church.Glee was known to others as a loving, caring person, always ready to lend a helping hand.In addition to her daughter Carolyn G. Leeper of New Castle, she is survived by three sons, David L. Thompson and Donald G. Thompson, both of New Castle, and Glenn E. Thompson of Jacksonville, FL; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Darl Booher; and a sister, Gladys Taylor.Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation Monday, June 30, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and will be officiated by Rev.
