Glenn H. Rogers, 85, of Shenango Township, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2014 in Jameson Hospital. Glenn was born August, 14, 1928, in Johnstown, PA, to the late Robert and Josephine Rodgers. He married Helen M. Burkey on Aug, 9, 1947, and were married for 67 years. She survives at home.Glenn worked at Johnson Bronze for 23 years. He also was a truck driver for Cooper Jarrett and hauled mail for the Santillo, Zappia and Dietrich Companies. Glenn enjoyed farming, hunting and camping in his motor home.He was a member of Teamsters Local 261, where he was union steward. He also was a member of Independent Methodist Church.Glenn is survived by his wife; two sons, Glenn C. (Gladys) Rogers and Carl A. (Kathy) Rogers; a daughter, Tamara Pieri; three brothers; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Rogers Bittinger; six brothers; and five sisters. Visatation will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Rd., New Castle. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at 2 p,m, at the funeral home with the Rev. Frederick Gilbert officiating.
