Glenn L. Spencer, 83 of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of March 19, 2018 at The Grove, in New Wilmington.
Born January 9, 1935, in Grove City, Pa., he was the son of the late John and Hilda Williams Spencer. He married Katherine Marie Updegraff Spencer on April 21, 1970. She survives at home.
Glenn was a graduate of Grove City High School. He enrolled in the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne, where he served in the Korean War. He went onto work as a Lab Tech for Butler VA Hospital, for 25 years. Glenn was a member of the Eagles, Elks, and Moose Clubs. He enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings and yard work. What gave Glenn the most joy was spending time with his family, especially playing with his grandchildren.
Along with his wife, Katherine, Glenn is survived by one daughter; Vicky (Tim) Miller of New Castle, one son; Greg Spencer of Houston, TX, one brother; Richard Spencer of Grove City, one sister; Bonna Lytle of Grove City, and two grandchildren; Megan and Leanna Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Mark Eric Spencer, three brothers; Jack, Robert and Kenneth Spencer, and sisters; Mildred Ash, Pearl Matheson, Betty Hancock and Patty Moon.
Visitation will be on Saturday March 24 from 12 - 1 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A service will be immediately following visitation, at 1:00 PM.
