Grace L. Burnside McCready, 92, of Neshannock Township, passed away the afternoon of April 11, 2017 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born April 16, 1924 in New Castle, she was the daughter of George and Ruth McConnell Lawrence.
On April 12, 1946, she married Kenneth E. Burnside who passed away on March 4, 1991 after 44 years of marriage. She subsequently married John McCready, Sr. who passed away in 2001.
A 1942 graduate of Shenango High School, Grace was employed as a bookkeeper for Agway.
While she was an avid reader, her greatest joy was the love she had for her family and the times spent together.
Grace was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are her four daughters, Polly (John) Woodring and Claire (James) Akins of Ft. Myers, FL., Shirley Winkler of Morrisville, NC., and Rebecca (Ron) Strobel of New Castle; one son, Kenneth D. (Debbie) Burnside of Ft. Myers, FL; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and both husbands, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Brian James Akins, three sisters and one brother.
At this time there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held May 13 at 11:00 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Wilmington Road.
Burial will be in Castle View Gardens.
