Harold "Jim" Wigton, Jr., age 77 of New Castle, passed away on Feb. 22, 2021.
Born March 14, 1943, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Harold J. and Beatrice I. (Shelar) Wigton, Sr.
On Oct. 26, 1962, he married his wife of 58 years, Sandra Fay (Lee) Wigton. She survives at home.
Jim served in the United States Air Force and was stationed state side during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was employed by Verizon and worked as a CZT. 1 Central Office Technician. Jim enjoyed hunting and often spent his spare time reading to quench his deep thirst for the knowledge of Jesus. Most of all, he loved the Lord, his Savior, Jesus Christ. He enjoyed sharing his faith with everybody. He was a member of First United Brethren Church.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by two daughters, Patty Wigton and Amy (Tom) Glessner, both of New Castle; two brothers, Kenneth A. Wigton, and J. Benjamin Wigton, both of New Castle; one grandchild and two step-grandchildren, Samantha (Joseph) Johnson, Sarah (Joseph) Mueller and Rachael Glessner and her fiancé Anthony Kelly.
Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by one brother David L. Fisher.
Visitation will be held on Sat. Feb. 27th from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at First United Brethren Church, 1900 Eastbrook Rd., New Castle. A service will follow immediately after visitation at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Marc Stephenson officiating. All visitors are asked to adhere to CDC guidelines regarding wearing face masks and social distancing.
