Harold "Roy" "Skip" Moon, 82, of New Wilmington, passed away the morning of April 20, 2021 at his residence. Born April 30, 1938 in Braddock, PA, he was the son of Harold Moon, Sr. and Gladys P. (Hammond) Moon. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marcilyn A. (Tucker) Moon, whom he married December 7, 1957. A graduate of McKeesport High School, Roy attended a trade school and Westminster College. He then gained employment with Westinghouse and later worked for General Motors in Lordstown, Ohio as an independent contractor. A real outdoorsman, Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing and canoeing. He also liked motorcycles, automotive work, machining and woodworking. Most important to him was his family and the times they spent together. Roy was an active member of First Baptist Church where he served as a former deacon, trustee, choir member and youth group leader. After his retirement, Roy took care of the maintenance work at the church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Karen (Jeffrey) Ott of Ambridge, PA and Donna (John) Slick of New Wilmington; two sons, Roy (Paula) Moon of Butler and Douglas (Jamie) Moon of Enon Valley; one sister, Patricia Scali of Seattle, WA; nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Heather, Amanda, Lauren, Zane, Jordyn, Mackenzie, Hayden and Garrett; and three great-grandchildren, Blaire, Brody and Brooke. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Thomas Harrison; and one sister, Elizabeth Spencer. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 23, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A private funeral service for the family will take place after the visitation with the Rev. John Yergan officiating.
