Harold L. Todd, 90, of Katera's Kove, Wampum and formerly of New Castle, PA, passed away peacefully the morning of July 23, 2011.He was born in Johnstown, PA on May 11, 1921 to Clarence and May White ToddHarold graduated from Johnstown High School. He joined the Army shortly after high school graduation, near the beginning of WWII and served his country in the South Pacific, New Guinea and Australia from 1941 until the end of the war in 1945. Harold returned home to marry Lois Elizabeth McKelvey in November 1945. Lois went to be with the Lord in October 2006. They moved to Ellwood City, PA where they raised three children, Edward, Clair and Glenn, all of whom survive. After leaving the service, Harold devoted his working career to finance and retail. He worked for Beneficial Finance and Zeigler Furniture in Ellwood City, then Carson Finance, Dollar Savings and Sky Bank in New Castle. He retired as the Credit Manager of Klafter's at the age of 84. Harold enjoyed getting together with family and friends for food, fun, biking, dancing, story telling and was always ready for a good game of cribbage. He was always the first to offer to help, no matter what the problem.Harold is survived by his three children and their spouses, Edward and Karen of Selinsgrove, PA, Claire and Eric of Skillman, NJ, and Glenn and Marlene of New Castle. He was blessed with three grandchildren, two great grandsons and one great granddaughter, Michael, his wife Jessica and their son Owen of Seven Fields, PA, Andrea, her husband Martin and their son Abram of Rockwood, PA and Zachary, his wife Jennifer and their daughter Delia, whom is Harold's first great granddaughter, of Harrisburg, PA. He also leaves behind a long time companion, Dorothy Ference of Bradford Woods, PA, as well as a large group of adopted children and grandchildren from Dorothy's loving family.Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother Ralph and one sister Miriam.The family is planning a memorial service the date of which will be announced in the future.
