Harriet A. Stalker, age 94, formerly of New Castle, passed away the morning of January 2, 2025, at Shenango on the Green in New Wilmington, PA.
Born May 17, 1930, in Butler, PA, she was the daughter of Harry A. and Hattie H. (Greer) Galbreath.
She was preceded in death on December 30, 2015, by her beloved husband of 66 years, Roy S. Stalker, Jr., whom she married November 24, 1949.
A graduate of Butler High School, Harriet started her career as a legal secretary for Attorney Jack Flannery, which continued for 30 years, until her retirement in 1994.
She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church for over 75 years where she served as an elder, deacon and kitchen worker. Harriet also spent time volunteering with Meals on Wheels. Among her varied interests, she enjoyed baking, cooking and being a member of the music club at Northminster Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Prudy (Dan) Rupp of Newbury, OH; three sons, Jeff (Celine) Stalker of Wexford, PA, Brian (Sharon) Stalker of Mt. Gretna, PA and Duane (Susan Eibs) Stalker of Greentree, PA; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Galbreath and three sisters, Mary Kennedy, Bissie Thompson and Myrtle Thompson.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 125 N. Jefferson St., New Castle, PA 16101.
In keeping with Mrs. Stalker's wishes, there will be no services at this time.
