Harry A. "Mope" Donley, 84, of 916 Pleasantview Dr., New Castle passed away the morning of June 9, 2012 at the Jameson Care Center, New Castle, PA.Mope was born to the late William R and Hazel Brown Donley on June 18, 1927 in New Castle.He married Joanne Rapson Donley, September 3, 1948, she survives. Mr. Donley work for Aetna Standard and for Blaw-Knox as a lathe operator until he retired in 1984. He attended Shenango High School until he entered the United States Navy and served in the Pacific Theatre as a Seebee from 1945 to 1946. He was a member of the VFW# 315 and served as a past post commander. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking.Besides his wife, Mr. Donley is survived by two daughters, Barbara A Donley of Warrenton, VA. and Diana L. Roberts and husband Raymond of Schenectady, NY; one son, William R. Donley and wife Maggie of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Marylou Shaffer and Carol Golis of New Castle; six grandchildren, Colin Donley of Cranberry Twp, Emma Donley of New Orleans, William R. Donley III of New York, NY, Peter J. Donley of Pittsburgh, Matthew D. and Caroline Roberts of Schenectady, NY; and two great grandchildren, Leah and Ella Donley of Cranberry Twp.Mr. Donley was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Thomas E. Donley; three brothers: James E. Donley, Richard Donley and William E. Donley; and one sister: Dorothy Altheide.Visitation for Harry A. "Mope" Donley will be held Monday, June 11, 2012, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, June 12, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA.Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at 12:00 p.m .at the funeral home conducted by the Rev. Darrin Abraham of Gardner Chapel.
