Harry J. Ratvasky, age 77 of Edinburg, passed away the afternoon of April 7, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver, PA.
Born Feb. 18, 1944 in New Castle, he was the son of the late John and Alice (Braho) Ratvasky.
On April 19, 1963, he married his wife of 57 years, Ruth (Minteer) Ratvasky. She survives at home.
Mr. Ratvasky was a 1961 graduate of New Wilmington High School. In 1971, he became the proud founder of his own business which became Progressive Diesel Injection in New Castle. Among his many interests, Harry was a private pilot and was very passionate about flying. He was also very fond of polka music and often celebrated his Slovak heritage at numerous festivals in the area.
In addition to his wife, Harry is survived by two daughters, Sharon (David) May and Laurie (Frank) Monteleone, both of Edinburg, PA; one son, Harry J. Ratvasky II, of New Wilmington, PA; one brother, Richard Ratvasky of Edinburg, PA; six grandchildren, Allison Jones, Aimee Bisignani, Robert Jones, Steven May, Andrew May, Lindsey Hettrick; and four great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, William, and Paul Ratvasky.
Visitation will be held on Sat. April 10th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A service will follow immediately at noon.
All CDC guidelines will be in place in regard to wearing face masks and social distancing.
Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
