Hartley Caldwell Johnston, Jr., 57, of Shenango Twp., passed away the morning of July 15, 2021, at his father's residence. Born June 11, 1964, in New Castle, he was the son of Hartley Caldwell Johnston Sr. and the late Sandra Jean (Kline) Johnston whom passed on September 7, 2015. He graduated from Parktown Christian Academy and earned his associate degree in science from Community College of Allegheny County. He was previously employed with Erie Forge and Steel and was currently employed by Superior Forge and Steel as a Supervisor of Quality Assurance. Hartley attended Hoover Heights Church. He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, flying remote control airplanes, farming, and restoring tractors. In addition to his father, he is survived by; aunts, Karen F. (Richard) Knight of New Castle and Mabel DeLong; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother; cousins, Rachelle Knight and Clifford White; his grandparents; and several aunts and uncles. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 18 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place on Monday, July 19 at 3:30 PM at the funeral home with David Drake officiating. Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
