Hazel M. Copper, 86, of New Castle, passed away the morning of September 20, 2017 with her family by her side. Born October 14, 1930 in New Castle, she was the daughter of John W. and Margaret Douglas Stickel. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Ralph Copper, on August 19, 2017. A 1950 graduate of New Castle High School, Hazel was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of Highland Presbyterian Church. She was a volunteer for Contact E.A.R.S. as well as the Red Cross and hostess shop at St. Francis Hospital for many years. Among her many interests, Hazel enjoyed swimming, baking and especially watching her grandchildren. Surviving are her two children and their spouses, daughter Gwendolyn (Michael) Radachy and son, Ernest (Mary Beth) Copper, all of New Castle; one sister, Mabel DeGraw of New Castle; 4 grandchildren, Cassandra Allen, Jay Copper, Jessica Copper, Kyle Radachy; and 2 great-grandchildren, Levi and Eli Allen. In addition to her parents and former husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Clair W. Stickel and an infant daughter. A one hour visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. Rev. Richard Kinney will officiate.
