Hazel Coulter Hemphill, 92, of New Castle, passed away the morning of May 14, 2012 at her residence.Born February 14, 1920 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Allen and Carrie Crane Coulter.She married Charles R. Hemphill on April 28, 1951. He preceded her in death November 6, 1990.She was a 1937 graduate of New Castle High School.Hazel was formerly employed with Shenango Pottery, and later was a relief operator with West Penn Plastics.She was a member of the Lark Enterprise Auxiliary.She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Carol and Joseph Hamed and Barbara Hemphill of New Castle; two grandchildren, Dawna Rees Vanderpool and her husband Nathan, and Nicole Rees Carmichael and her husband Kevin; two step-grandchildren, Joseph Hamed and Jaime Hamed; two great grandchildren, Ava and Sean Carmichael; and her special friend, Karen Oliphant.In addition to her parents and her husband Charles, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Rob, Paul and Raymond Coulter.Visitation will be held on Wednesday. May 16, 2012, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will follow visitation at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Dennis Bupp will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
