Hazel R. Kerr, 90, of New Wilmington, passed away the afternoon of October 21, 2011 at Shenango Presbyterian SeniorCare.Hazel had formerly lived at her home on Highland Avenue for ninety years until recently moving to New Wilmington.Born November 28, 1920 in New Castle, she was a daughter of David E. and Mary Belle Eagle Burry. She was married to Clemen Kerr who preceded her in death in January of 1973.Hazel was retired from the Manufacturers Light and Heat Company where she was employed as a cashier.She was the past president of Wimodausis and was a member of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church.She is survived by four nieces and two nephews; 14 great-nieces and nephews; and 9 great-great nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Lois Ake, Annetta Porter, Ruth Irene Schantz, Florence Speed, and Phyllis Lee.A private funeral service was held Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. Rev. Chris Weichman of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church officiated. Burial is in Castle View Gardens.
