Obituary

Hazel A. Linton, 89, formerly of Edinburg, passed away the morning of November 28, 2011 at Hospice House in Poland, Ohio.Born September 21, 1922 in Youngstown, Ohio, she was a daughter of Frank and Hilma Nelson Heim. She married Floyd A. Linton on August 29, 1940. He preceded her in death on November 11, 2003.She was a graduate of Union High School in 1940.Hazel was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting and making fudge.She was a member of the Mahoning Valley Grange, Eastern Star and bridge club. She liked watching sports, playing cards and Bingo.A member of the Mahoning Presbyterian Church, she attended the Dorcas Group and served the Senior's Dinner on Fridays.She is survived by one daughter, Shirley L. Linton of Girard, OH; one son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Kathy Linton of New Castle; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Raub; two brothers, Frank Heim and William Heim; and a grandson, Scott A. Murray.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Robert Dayton will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hermon Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, OH 44512.
