Helen V. Braatz, 99, of New Castle, passed away the night of May 26, 2020 at Quality Life Services. Born October 6, 1920 in New Castle, she was a daughter of John and Sara (Baskeyfield) Hopper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Braatz, whom she married September 9, 1939. Helen attended New Castle High School and was a homemaker, enjoying sewing and knitting. She was a member of Wimodausis and the former Second United Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two daughters, Marlene (John) Leslie and Debbie (Patrick) Michael of New Castle; one son, Robert Braatz of Sharon; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, June Hopper and one brother, Carl Hopper. A private service will be held for the family at the R.
