Helen L. George, 83, of Neshannock Township, passed away September 11, 2016 at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, surrounded by her loving family. Born October 3, 1932 in Shippenville, PA , she was the daughter of John and Anna Meehan Beichner. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Isaac George, whom she married on January 17, 1968. After her graduation from Shippenville High School, she attended Youngstown State University. She was employed for 27 years as a case worker with the Department of Welfare. Helen's family, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were the center of her life. She was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Karen S. (Joseph E.) McIlvenny and Nancy L. (Garry O.) Cushanick all of New Castle; two sons, Thomas A. George of Duncansville, PA and Daniel L. (Mary Ann) Broschart of New Castle; one brother, Dana Beichner of Edinburg; one sister, Jayne Raybuck of Knox, Pa; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Kathleen A. Cooper; four brothers; and one sister. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A memorial service will take place on Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Highland Presbyterian Church, 708 Highland Avenue, New Castle, with the Rev. Richard Kinney officiating.
