Helen Roberta Grannis, (nee Allen) 93, formerly of Erie, PA, passed away February 12, 2014 at Montefiore Nursing Home in Beachwood, Ohio. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Walter "Red" Grannis; cherished mother of Alan (Nancy) Grannis and George Grannis; loving sister of Jean Lewis; devoted grandmother to Jim (Barbara) Nelson, Jason (Ashley) Grannis, Emily Grannis and Andrew Grannis; loving great-grandmother to Michael and Joel Nelson; adored American mom of Edgar (Inez) Gonzalez; and grandmother to Carlos (Delis) and Diana Zeni (Brenden); extraordinary aunt, colleague and friend to so many in New Castle, PA; Erie, PA; and Cleveland, OH. Helen spent her life joyfully helping others, not only as an O.R. Nurse, but also in all of her other roles. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 10:00-12:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
