Helen Catherine (George) Martin, 87, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2023, at the Quality Life Services Nursing Home in New Castle, PA.

She was born on December 26, 1935, in Coraopolis, PA, the daughter of Steven and Ethel (Haus) George.

Helen graduated from Coraopolis High School in 1953. Upon graduation, she married Michael P Martin and they celebrated 67 years of marriage before his passing in September 2020. For 23 years, she worked at Jameson Memorial Hospital in the Housekeeping, Education and Outpatient Services Departments.

Helen enjoyed family gatherings, her schnauzer dog pets, classic country music, NASCAR racing, and her Pittsburgh Pens and Steelers.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Steve, and her daughter Kim (Martin) Strait.

Surviving are her brothers Jim and Dick George, her son Jim and his wife Terry (Girard) Martin, her daughter Tina and her husband Tim Sumner, her daughter Penny and her husband Dan Stewart, 8 grandchildren (Rochelle, Shannon, Michael, Holly, Dominic, Alyssa, Gene and Amy), and 6 great grandchildren (Timmy, Alexis, Aleah, Amaryllis, Zadie and Dale).

Helen and her husband Mike will be laid to rest, together, at the Graceland Cemetery Mausoleum in New Castle. A private family memorial service for Helen will be held at Graceland on a date to be announced in June.
