Helen L. Mooney, 96, of Hempfield Manor, Greensburg, formerly of Ashberry Lane, New Castle, passed away the morning of November 4, 2010 at her residence.Born February 20, 1914 in West Monterey, PA, she was a daughter of Thomas and Madge Kerr Perell. She married Paul D. Mooney, Sr., on October 8, 1938. He passed away November 21, 1989.Helen was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Independent Church.She is survived by one daughter, Becky Mooney of Massillon, OH; two sons, Paul D. Mooney, Jr. of Spring Lake, MI and David S. Mooney of Greensburg, PA; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Mooney; two brothers, William Perell and Fred DeJohn; five sisters, Velma Nocera, Vera Montrella, Lillian Dryfuse, Rose Metta and Sarah Perell.Visitation will be held on Monday, November 8, 2010, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 8, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Charles Fombelle will officiate.
