Helen M. Perdue, age 89, formerly of Sherwood Drive in Shenango Township, passed away the afternoon of November 9, 2016 at Trinity Living Center in Grove City.
Born November 21, 1926 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Fred W. and Ethel M. Hoover Bintrim.
She was preceded in death on June 25, 1995 by her husband of 47 years, Edgar W. Perdue, whom she married April 2, 1948.
In addition to being a homemaker for her children and husband, Helen was a cook for the former Almira Home and was a housekeeper.
Helen will always be remembered as a wonderful cook. She was a member of the Laurel Travel Club and of Center Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her two daughters, Joyce (Fred) Freeman of Volant and Janet Perdue of Corning, NY; one son, Jack (Lynn) Perdue of Portersville; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Edgar Perdue, Jr.; two sisters, Edice Bartberger and Ann Fautato; and four brothers, Herbert, Ernest, James and George Bintrim.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A funeral service will take place on Monday at 11:00 at the funeral home with the Rev. Andrew R. Jillson officiating.
Burial will be in Slippery Rock Presbyterian Cemetery in Ellwood City.
