Obituary

Helen Louise Stanley Wilson, born February 3, 1932, daughter of Earl and Anna Stanley, passed away in her home surrounded by loved ones, on November 24, 2024.

Helen will be remembered for her kindness and generosity. She loved people and welcomed many into her home, several who lived with her and her family until they could get back on their feet. She always cared for the underdog, the less fortunate, the lonely. She often cooked meals and delivered them to those who could not get out- even at the age of 87, right up until she became ill. She was a determined person and could be a bit feisty. Many will remember her from working at Giant Eagle, (1972-1998) or as a lifelong member of St. Mary's, or as Quilt Guild member. Or as Jim's wife! Her photo montage will show her waterskiing, jet skiing, roller-skating, and dancing (to her favorite – George's brass band). She was a remarkable woman. She will be missed a great deal by her family. Her children and her grandchildren miss her sorely already. Rest in Peace.

She is survived by her three daughters, Sharon Marcantino (Michael), Victoria Trott, and Brenda Wood and three siblings, James Stanley, Patricia Colucci and Earl Stanley. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Anne Marie Marcantino Reck, Ashley Marcantino Greathouse, James Trott, Caitlyn Trott, Jenna Trott Beckman, Andrew Trott, Spencer Wood and Henry "Wils" Wood and fourteen great grandchildren.

Her husband, James Henry Wilson, predeceased her, as well as two siblings- Mary Ann Noviello and Ronald Stanley.

Friends and family will be received at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home, 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, on Sunday, December 1, 2024, for visitation from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM and a celebration of her life service, starting at 3:00 PM, with Rev. Matthew Bupp, officiating.

She will be buried with her husband at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Burial will be private.
