Herbert L. McClelland, 84, of New Castle, passed away the morning of March 19, 2018 at his home. Born October 10, 1933 in Marwood PA, he was the son of John W. and Mary Mathews McClelland. Herbert was preceded in death on December 28, 2011 by his wife of 54 years, Rosetta E. (White) McClelland, whom he married May 25, 1957. A 1952 graduate of Princeton High School, Mr. McClelland served his country in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1956. He was an electrician with IBEW Local 712 until his retirement after 41 years of service. He was a member of Savannah Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by one daughter, Wende (Richard) Litrenta of New Castle; two sons, J. Eric (Michele) McClelland of New Castle and Kurt A. (Tammy) McClelland of Welchs Creek, KY; one sister; Thelma Ringler from Princeton PA., one sister-in-law; Lucy McClelland of New Castle; and 6 grandchildren; Austin McClelland, Hannah McClelland, Kathryn McClelland, Kari McClelland, Raegan Litrenta and Rocco Litrenta. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife and one brother, William McClelland. Visitation will be held Thursday March 22, 2018 from 6-8 P.M. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with Rev. John Yergan officiating.
