Irene L. Fleming, age 90, of New Castle, went to be with her Lord and Savior, the evening of June 7, 2020, at the Haven Convalescent Home, in New Castle. Born August 25, 1929, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Lance and Ada (Moon) Dean. On Jan. 27, 1950, she married her beloved husband Robert H. "Bob" Fleming. He preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 2019. Irene graduated from Harlansburg High School. She worked in family care at the City Rescue Mission. She loved to sing and attend bible study. What gave Irene the most joy in life, was her family. She cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and will be remembered as the family prayer warrior. She was a member of the Church of Genesis, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Irene is survived by one daughter, Susan (Harry) Werner of New Castle, PA; two sons, Richard (Jody) Fleming of Indianapolis, IN, and David (Kim) Fleming of Williston, VT; nine grandchildren, Mary Smith, Rebekah Veon, Abby Mahosky, Elizabeth Sommer, Todd Fleming, James Fleming, Amanda Ferry, Zane Fleming and Naomi Fleming; and seventeen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Irene was preceded in death by infant daughter Bobbi Sue and several brothers and sisters. In keeping with Irene's wishes, services will be private.
