Joseph Carl Proctor, known as Carl or J.C., 69, went home to be with his Lord and Savior the afternoon of December 5, 2010 while surrounded by his family.Carl was born April 3, 1941 to Joseph K. and Margaret E. Johnson Proctor in New Castle. His parents preceded him in death. He leaves behind his sweetheart Kathleen A. Grimm Proctor, to whom he was married for over forty-eight years. Carl served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1970. After serving in the Navy, he went to work for Bell Telephone where he retired from after thirty-two years.During retirement Carl enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family. He was also a very active member of First Alliance Church. Both his family and church family will miss him dearly.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, David C. and Valerie Proctor and Douglas W. and Tracey Proctor all of New Castle; a sister and brother-in-law, Evelynn "Lynn" and Chuck "Butch" Burkhouse of New Castle; a niece and nephew-in-law, Amber and Dave Koski of New Castle; and four grandchildren, Christopher, Courtney, Connor and Lily Mei Proctor.Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2010, and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the funeral home. The Rev. Thomas Barnts and The Rev. Gary DeWitt will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
