Jack A. Brest, 67, of New Castle, passed away July 28, 2016 at his residence. Born January 18, 1949 in New Castle, he was a son of Chester L. and Margaret A. Perkins Brest. Jack worked around automobiles all his life and was employed for 12 years as an auto detailer at Herb's Auto Body. In his spare time, Jack enjoyed fishing, watching television, especially John Wayne movies, and collecting squirrel figurines. He is survived by three brothers, Herb Brest, Ralph Brest, and Charles Brest, all of New Castle; one sister, Alice Gallaher; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clayton and William Brest, and one sister, Dorothy Macri. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation Monday at 4:00 at the funeral home with the Rev.
