Jack Earl Carr, age 87, of New Castle, passed away the morning of Sept. 15, 2022, at Rhodes Estates.

Born Dec. 10, 1934, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Samuel E. and Gladys Leola (Miller) Carr.

He was married to Ruthann (Smiley) Carr. She survives at home.

Jack faithfully served his country in the Unites States Navy. For several years, Jack was a crane operator employed by Babcock & Wilcox. He went on to work for Bessemer Cement, until his retirement. Jack enjoyed water skiing, even into his 70's, and boating. He also enjoyed being a HAM radio operator and camping. He attended Shepherd's Lighthouse Church.

In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by two sons, Robert W. Carr of Templeton, PA, and Thomas E. Carr of New Castle, PA; sister Beverly Shober of New Castle, PA; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wed. Sept. 21st from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation, at 7:00 PM, with Rev. Puffer of Shepherd's Lighthouse Church, officiating.

Burial will be at Castleview Cemetery.
