Jack D. Grimm, Sr. 86, of New Wilmington, passed away the morning of October 7, 2021, at Shenango on the Green. Born December 8, 1934, in New Castle, he was the son of Peter S. and Rosella (Meister) Grimm. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Joan (Lewis) Grimm, whom he married September 7, 1956. Jack served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a self-employed master plumber of Jack Grimm Plumbing. Jack held memberships with the VFW, was a 50 year member of Masonic Lodge #243 and the Plumbing Local, New Castle Consistory, Syria Shrine, Consistory Legion of Honor and USS LEYTE Association. He enjoyed hunting and loved going to camp with his wife, family and friends. He was a member of the former Kings Chapel Methodist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Jack (Susan) Grimm, Jr. of Volant; two daughters, Karen (Dan) Tomich of Florida and Brenda Manos of New Wilmington; two brothers, Leroy S. Grimm of Volant and Larry J. Grimm of Arizona; one sister, Donna Grimm of New Wilmington; nine grandchildren, Ashlea Klem, Amanda Costa, Adam Tomich, Lindsey Manos, Lucas Manos, Jack Grimm III, Jed Grimm, Wyatt Grimm and Zane Grimm; and three great-grandchildren, Hunter Klem, Cameron Klem and Mila Costa. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ronald, Alford "Buck" and Charles Grimm. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. of New Castle where the family will gather for a private service with Rev. Jeff Hurst officiating. A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date by the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the family so they may plant an apple orchard in Jack's memory in McKean County.
