Jack Gene Wright, age 89, of New Castle, went to be with the Lord the morning of March 17, 2023.

Born Jan. 31, 1934, he was the son of the late John R. and Virginia J. (McCracken) Wright.

Jack was a graduate of New Castle High School. He then went on to graduate from Grove City College, with a bachelor's degree, in Business Administration. Jack faithfully served his country as a Lieutenant in the United States Air Force.

For 60 years, Jack enjoyed serving the community as the owner and operator of George Reid Insurance Agency. Jack will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and love for others. He loved serving the Lord with his many talents, including, serving in prison ministry, ushering, driving the church van, singing in the church choir, performing in church plays and assisting with children's ministry. He loved dining out with his family and friends and he also enjoyed reading his bible, bowling, hunting, gardening, and riding his motorcycle. Jack was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh sports teams, Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Indians. He was a member of the Lords of the Castle Barbershop Chorus and First Assembly of God Church. More recently, he attended Jubilee Ministries International.

Survivors include five children, Jackie Wright, Roger Wright, Dan Wright, Jessica Wright-Maldet and Johnathan (Stefanie) Wright; three sisters, Shirley Salomon, Minnie Price and Beverly Rzicznek; nine grandchildren, Jason Wright, Jeremy Iorio, Kellie Moore, Rochelle Miller, Edward Wright, Troy Wright, Trenton Maldet, Moriah Maldet and Naomi Maldet; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Along with his parents, Jack was preceded in death by infant daughter, Jennifer Wright.

Visitation will be held on Thurs. March 23rd from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Fri. March 24th from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place, on Fri March 24th, immediately following visitation at noon, at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Fair Oaks Cemetery.
